Legendary Emulator Sampler and Proteus Sound Module SoundFont libraries  E-MU Systems pioneered the sound sampling industry with the Emulator line of high quality, state of the art digital sampling workstations. Later, E-MU went on to develop Proteus sound modules that revolutionized the sample playback industry. In the early 90's E-MU partnered with Creative Technologies bringing sampling and sample playback to the computer industry replacing the obnoxious or non-existent sound playback for computers. The result was a sound card with E-MU hardware producing the sounds and a new data format called SoundFont. The SoundFont format was derived from the original Proteus and allowed sound designers to create realistic and expressive sounds for the computer. The combination of the new hardware and data format was astounding and Creative became the world leader of computer sound generation. SoundFont has become an industry standard and works with practically all-modern day computers.
