The Fatal1ty China Great Wall Shootout was the largest prize ever offered in a single gaming event. Creative joined forces with the organizer, ABIT, among other event sponsors, pulled together the shootout on Oct. 15, 2004. Held at the Great Wall in Beijing, China, the top 4 DOOM 3 players in China got a chance to play against the most famous gamer as well as the 2004 DOOM 3 World Champion, Johnathan 'Fatal1ty' Wendel. The challenge was simple: Beat 'Fatal1ty' in a 1v1 Deathmatch and take home 1 Million Renminbi (US$125,000). Meng 'RocketBoy' Yang, managed to defeat 'Fatal1ty' in an exciting fight to the finish shootout.
Beside sponsoring the exciting shootout, Creative also launched the
PCMCIA Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook in China at the event. A great presentation was put together by the Creative China team. The press was excited to learn that Creative is bringing an awesome audio solution to the notebook. Notebook users are no longer stuck with the poor audio that comes standard with their notebook computers; they can now enjoy Sound Blaster quality, multi-channel audio with their laptops. PCMCIA Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook brings huge improvement over the baseline integrated audio. To top it off, it also supports the defacto audio standard for PC gaming - EAX® ADVANCED HD. Now users can truely immerse themselves in gaming even when they use a notebook computer!
